Female Photographers & Film Experiment
Since the invention of film, it has been obvious that female photographers have enjoyed exploring the possibilities of both media. The broad spectrum between documentation and reassembly of the world has always offered the chance to break up entrenched conditions, including visual and perspective norms. This program presents experimental short films by female photographers working in film and female filmmakers working in photography. It features artists from the current exhibition “City of Women Photographers. Frankfurt 1844 – 2024” at the Historical Museum Frankfurt, as well as other Frankfurt-based creatives.
